LAND ROVERS

These trusty cars have been through the wild, and back again

It all started with Ed’s passion for cars and a backyard full of half build cars - he can never resist a ‘project’! - when Ed & Moon conceived the idea that became The Safari Series, back in early 2019, the jumble of Land Rover parts that had been collected over the years (despite Moon’s desperate attempt to get rid of them) became the founding custom-built, safari converted car for our guests to go on safari in.

Years on, this eight seater, safari-converted Series II Land Rover is now one of three vehicles we use for game drives. All Land Rovers, of course, and all from the local area - released from a life of servitude hauling maize from the fields and refurbished and recreated for the ultimate game drive experience. This story is perfectly in keeping with our passion for sustainability - why buy a new car when we can give one a new, very loving home?

And from there, more Land Rovers arrived. Many secreted past Moon and hidden in a bush until they could be seamlessly integrated into the fleet without anyone noticing. Prized Series I’s came to sit in the car park, and we are delighted to have so many guests come to stay with us that have a passion for old cars or even Land Rovers specifically. Those that want to are welcome to take one of these beauties for a drive around the conservancy - a truly unique offering and a fantastic way to see the landscape (that is, if you can focus on it and the gear change at the same time).

Our cars are a part of us, with nothing more suitable for the hilly conservancy we are located on. Our guides are expert drivers of these vehicles and love nothing more than showing you their home - 4WD turned on.
