Bingo! Another fun way to get kids loving safari (as if they need more!)

‘Bingo!’ It’s not often a word you hear out on a game drive, deep in the Kenyan bush…. Until now! Safari is an incredible and often life-changing experience, and more and more parents are seeing the value in bringing their kids on safari with them. During the pandemic, we had hundreds of families from within Kenya stay at the camp with children ranging from tiny 3 month old babies to full-on 25 year old, staying with their Mum (big softies really!).

Parents often ask ‘how will my kids cope in a car for hours on end?’ and we like to reply with the following: ‘firstly, you won’t be in a car for hours at a time - we are lucky not to be constrained by rules, so we are always jumping in and out of our Land Rovers to look at tracks, beetles, poo and plants. It is a very interactive experience. Second, there is so much to look at that you can’t help but want more! Whether it’s a pair of kids binoculars that help them to see cheetahs up close, or helping our guide, Elijah, to find the perfect stick to make a Maasai-inspired bow and arrow (that really works too!) - making sure the small ones have fun is absolutely key to Mum and Dad having a great time too.’

It was a conversation like this that led us to create our brand new Safari Bingo! A paper made up of 36 squares, filled with all types of safari spots. From birds, to animals, to paw prints, to a bone, to even a beaded bracelet - from now on, children can fill their Bingo card in with everything they spot. At the end of their stay at The Safari Series they can count up the points, total them up and enter into a competition to find out top scorer of 2022. At the end of the year, the winner will win two nights for two at the camp - what a great prize!

What do you think, your eagle eyes up for the challenge - it isn’t just for kids you know!
